STERILE DRESSING
It’s recommended that you have six medium, two large, and two extra large sterile dressings.
NON-ALCOHOLIC WOUND CLEANING WIPES
Acts as a disinfectant and helps prevent infections.
GAUZE PADS & ADHESIVE BANDAGES OF VARIOUS SIZES
Use gauze pads to clean and dress wounds, then use bandages to hold dressings in place. Scissors, safety pins and tape are also helpful when attaching bandages.
GERMICIDAL HAND WIPES
Use to sterilise your hands in case water is not available.
ALCOHOL SWABS.
Disinfects the area around the wound. Can also used to disinfect equipment.
ANTIBACTERIAL OINTMENT
Applying this after a wound has been cleaned will help to prevent infection.
FORCEPS / TWEEZERS
Occasionally, foreign particles might get into the wound area. These can be removed with forceps or tweezers.
DISPOSABLE GLOVES
For added hygiene when dealing with cuts and wounds.
BURN GEL
To cool the skin and dissipate the heat in the case of minor burns. It can also ease the pain and reduce any possible swelling.
ICE PARK
For the relief of pain, swelling and inflammation.
THERMOMETER
Allows you to gauge if a fever is serious enough for a visit to a doctor. If the reading exceeds 38.5 degrees Celsius, it is.
